Crocus Scarf

The crocus have finished blooming and tulips and (my fav) muscari are popping up everywhere. This weekend will hit 80 and I have to remember to walk to Oxford St. to see the row of magnolias which will surely be blooming.

This is the last scarf from my springtime warp. Have a great weekend!

Sunset Scarf

I've been getting some of the nicest feedback the past few days from fellow etsy folks (thank you if you see this!) It always comes at the most needed time and has refreshed me a bit. One new scarf today and tomorrow and then on to the next warp (with a bit of working on the film in between).

This weekend is going to be 80 degrees and I know I always mention the weather, but I am super psyched! All of the plastic is coming off of our windows and I am going to repot plants and clean and get all of this stale winter air out of the house once and for all.
Pidge will be sitting in the window, stalking pigeons and wishing for moths to fly inside. She seems so much more content after our executive decision to take her off of her diet. She can eat herself silly and though this makes me a bad parent for multiple reasons- the whining and incessant meowing every time I stand up (b/c I'm obviously getting up to feed her) have almost completely stopped! It is quite shocking.

P.S.

Noodling around on my computer, I found this site- craftcult.com and from there discovered I was part of an etsy blog post today! How fun.

New Summer Scarf

This is my favorite scarf from the most recent warp. Bright, summery colors that remind me of beach umbrellas.
Not much is new here- planning on putting weaving aside this week to work on Hungry Mother (possible website coming soon?)- Albert and my film-in-progress.

In lieu of knitting group last night, we made cupcakes and went to see a special screening of The Visitor at the Dryden theater (not much of a link- but I think there is a trailer available). I recommend it!

Pale Yellow Stripey Scarf

Today's scarf was inspired by china plates with painted coi swimming about on a pale yellow hutch. I've used these plates before with more pumpkin-y rich autumn tones- here's the spring version.

Birthday Hat

Found this on my desktop I had been meaning to share.. fuzzy little ice blue hat I knit for my pal, Rachel, for her birthday earlier this month.

Spring a ling!

Finally! It seems I've been waiting for ages for these scarves to be ready. I've spent all afternoon (say it with a British accent- I did) photographing and editing, all while happily listening to episodes of This American Life. This scarf was inspired by a photo of beautiful and expensive ($100 a yard?!) floral curtains on a sun porch I have pasted in my journal. I'm imagining somewhere in Atlanta - probably because I saw Gone with the Wind for the first time last night at the Dryden Theater. Such gorgeous costumes.. I want a hoop skirt and wonder when they will come back to fashion?

In other news, Albert and Jon have put up a website for their film in progress. Check it out for a trailer, bios and information about how to get your hands on a copy of the DVD and soundtrack when the film is finished!

April Showers

The sky is getting darker and it's only 2:30. Rain is soon to come (feed those Magnolias- can't wait to see them blooming) which will make me postpone the photo shoot for the next batch of scarves. Six of them! There is still plenty to do with my afternoon though- tying fringe and writing descriptions for etsy can be done rain or shine.

Snow in April

The snow can't stick. Hope the daffodils can rebound from the chilly temps this week... Off to Buffalo tomorrow to visit family for Easter. My goal was to finish the scarves on the current warp and take photos so I could put them online the rest of the week. We'll see.....

Shavingkitsupplies was nice enough to include me in a treasury on etsy. Check out her shop for unique embroidered brooches above and vintage paper colleges here.

The first year gmail didn't get me with their April Fool's joke!

A chilly rainy day perfect for spring cleaning and procrastinating from work. Got an email from
Dawn at Sley the dent that she included me in her treasury on etsy. A great collection- check it out!

I almost forgot! Today I can share with you a pet portrait of Sadie (the princess) and Wally (the court jester), 2 super cute kitties living in California with their owners (happy birthday!).
