Loom for Sale! *update, sold :)

I'm downsizing and it's time to send my Herald loom to a new loving home! I've been weaving on this workhorse since 2005 when I purchased her secondhand from another weaver. She's a 45 inch, 4 harness jack loom with 4 treadles for lots of patterning options. She has a few quirks so I'd recommend a new owner with a little weaving experience or someone willing to invest in lessons.

The nice thing about a non-computerized piece of equipment is how easy it is to fix or jury-rig any parts that wear out or break. Over the years several wooden parts have broken and I had well-working replacements made (2 anchor strips that hold up the back beam, the release rod for the braking system and several of the rivets on the lifters which have been replaced with simple nuts and bolts).

Other specs:
*size 12 reed is included as well as 2 raddles, 2 butterfly shuttles and an extra anchor strip
*14 page xeroxed booklet with background on Herald looms, information on different models, a handy labeled drawing of parts and mechanisms that I purchased from a weaving library online

I've been very happy with this loom and am sad to see it go! I'm asking for $175 or best offer, as is. You'll need a truck to transport this to your home. *This loom is located in Chadds Ford, PA. Interested? Email vanessalauria@gmail.com.

Shop Update!

As usual, the summer is flying by and the blog is falling by the wayside.

You've come to expect that. Oopsie! Just updated the shop with 14 new winter scarves. I give you permission to start dreaming of cool autumn evenings when there's a bite in the air and you actually need to wrap wool around your neck :)

The dreary and chilly weather today reassures me that there is still winter to come and scarves to wear this season! Here are a few favorites.

30 New Scarves this week!

Pidge loves to balance on this railing. Her fat hangs over both sides, acting like the poles high wire artists use for stability.

Finished a massive photoshoot this morning- preparing for 30 new scarves to be added to the shop...

Custom scarves

It has been several months since I've posted here. Oops.
This is not to say I haven't been busy busy on my New Year's Resolution to weave one scarf a day.
On the contrary, I've been working on some new inventory to fill that empty shop, researching for a few new products (!) and getting those dreaded taxes ready.

If you're interested in having a hand in designing your very own scarf or would love to give that gift to a loved one, check this out. Custom scarves typically take about a month from first conversation to finished one-of-a-kind creation! Here are some custom scarves I designed for some awesome ladies in January and February.

Saffron, pumpkin and chocolate brown.
Rich earthy colors inspired by a client's pinterest board!

Pidge in a hyper moment of ferociousness- keep those fingers away! Love that perfect black circle on her belly.

Rich purple, fuchsia and a pop of mustard yellow.
A custom scarf gift certificate.

Navy blue, olive and lemongrass.
A unique design in a limited color palette.

Deep seafoam, chocolate and cream.
The one that got away! A scarf inspired by another sold pidgepidge scarf.
